Luminhood is a small software studio and holding company based in Massachusetts. It owns the intellectual property, infrastructure, and brand behind a family of products released under their own names.
The structure is deliberate: the roof is shared, the rooms are separate. Shared underneath are the parts that are expensive to build once and cheap to reuse — the interaction engine, the privacy posture, the infrastructure, the craft. Kept separate on top are the products themselves, each with its own name, its own audience, and its own reason to exist.
Why an umbrella
Most of what makes a good personal-software product is not the product. It is the quiet machinery underneath: how a daily prompt gets generated, how a reflection is stored and resurfaced months later, how a person's history stays private and portable, how the whole thing runs cheaply enough to still be here in five years.
Building that once and reusing it across several products is the entire argument for Luminhood existing. It is an operating convenience, not a strategy — the strategy lives in the individual products.
What we work on
Three areas today, with room for more:
- Coaching — structured guidance a person can keep up with.
- Wellness — reflection and self-knowledge, not treatment.
- Productivity — planning and follow-through for attention that does not run on a default schedule.
Alongside the software, Luminhood operates a travel-advisory practice. It is a different kind of business with a different kind of customer, and it is run separately from the apps.
A note on scope
Our wellness and coaching products are tools for reflection. They are not medical devices. They do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and they are not a replacement for a therapist, physician, or licensed professional. Where a product touches something that deserves real care, it says so, and it points toward real care.
